Adolfo Indacochea is surely an explosive and energetic professional dancer who is identified all around the world through his smooth and exclusive style. This style brings together traditional mambo with different dances influence. His sense for musicality is noticeable in his choreography and improvisations.
Born and also raised inside Lima, Peru, Adolfo shifted to Monterrey, Mexico when he was 19 to study Professional Engineering and also began getting salsa lessons “On 1″ as a hobby in 2001. Within two months, his talent has been quickly identified by Adrian Arellano, a well-known musician and teacher in Mexico, and has been asked to get one of the starting members of Salzumba Dance Company.
Ten months later he began giving classes on his own and later he formed his first dance company known as “Mamboss” which is today recognized as one of the main salsa organizations and educational institutions in Mexico. In search of improvement Adolfo shifted to San Antonio, Texas in January 2004 and has been invited to join and teach with Semeneya Dance Company as well as perform independently along with his former partner Claudia Vazques.
It was not until the year 2003 that his passion for dancing “On 2″ evolved after seeing Eddie Torres’ magnificent Dancers perform at the NYC Salsa Congress the same year. With significant determination and ambition he taught himself how to dance “On 2 ” or New York Style, having the dream of becoming an Eddie Torres professional dancer within the next several years.
In search for his desire, he shifted to New York in September 2004 and has been invited as a exclusive partner of Amanda Estilo besides training together with Karisma dancers, directed by his good friend Victor Mayovanex. It was not until December 2004 that his desire of becoming a great Eddie Torres dancer has been fulfilled. His mentor Eddie Torres identified his ability and prospective instantly and invited Adolfo to join the most prestigious teams in the world.
After 8 months Adolfo started to perform with Jessica Ortiz as well becoming one of the elite dancers in the Eddie Torres Company and growing to be one of newest superstars in the NYC Mambo field. After two years, his advisor Eddie Torres gave him his true blessing to move on and to attempt to be one of top mambo dancers worldwide. Shortly after, Adolfo teamed up together with former Eddie Torres professional dancer Melissa Rosado and now instructs and performs all over the world.
Fortunately, Adolfo has had the great fortunate to perform at venues such as Lincoln Center and Lehman College and has shared stages together with well-known performers such as Gilberto Santa Rosa, Larry Harlow, and Frankie Vazquez. He’s performed and taught worldwide in the biggest festivals.
Besides his bright personality and genuine love for mambo, Adolfo’s special teaching style brings sparkle and excitement to any school. He introduces elements of timing, styling, body movements, shines and authentic turn patterns for all levels. Since Adolfo believes that anyone who considers dancing mambo should acquaint themselves with the music and its roots, his music in class is from diverse artists, eras and locations.
